We’re on day 10 of social distancing today. Well, it’s only the fourth day that Nabil has worked from home, so I guess it wasn’t full social distancing. But we basically suspended all our outside activities on March 15. We don’t have it as bad as others do, we are fortunate for that. Our backyard is tiny, but at least we have one so we can get some sun. And Sara can get her jiggles out by playing out there. And also, we’re used to spending lots of time together, playing board games and we all have projects and hobbies that we spend time on. The only thing causing any stress is the preparations for our move.
Speaking of moving, we have no idea when the big day will be. I guess the whole world is on pause right now, so that’s just what we’re dealing with. But whenever this lifts, we have an international move to attend to. Although I’ve been excited about moving back to the US, I am super grateful that we are here for the Coronavirus. This country has taken it extremely seriously and made all the right moves. I am frankly quite worried for friends and family in the US.
One good thing that has come out of the isolation is that the kids have put the pedal to the metal as far as their schoolwork goes. Both Maya and Sam are done with all their classes for the year with the exception of math. And they should only have a few more weeks of that to go. So if the summer brings some reprieve from the virus, they should be free over the summer to explore our new city and help me get our new house unpacked and in order. If… it’s so weird how we’re in this limbo, we just don’t know when life will get back to normal.
