CV-19 food

Posted on March 24, 2020 by laura.noueihed

So, now that CV-19 is threatening, we’ve made a conscious effort not to hoard. But also, we feel like we should really limit our visits to the grocery store. So we decided to stock up for two weeks and then try not to shop in that time. It felt like the right decision when we went into a grocery store that was packed with people and the sound of coughing rang out all around us.

Nabil has taken the opportunity to recreate some old favorites that we would normally only eat when out: he made chicken shawarma yesterday, and paired with Maya’s Keto flatbread, pickles, and some garlic and mayo spread, it was a hit. Last night we had picanha–a very Brazilian cut of beef that is covered in rock salt and roasted. We’re also eating lamb whenever we can–that’s something that won’t be as readily available when we get back to the US.

Playing ‘Smart Ass’

And after dinner, we played a board game. We do that occasionally, and it’s always fun. But last night it was awesome to have all my kids (and their significant others) together, laughing. It was a great relief from the dreariness of this lockdown.
