I never intended to homeschool four kids. But a few fateful decisions later, we had begun a lifestyle that would take us on unexpected adventures, allow us the flexibility to move overseas, and that ultimately gave my children an education and life experience that would have never been possible if my original life plan had worked out as planned.
Moving back home-ish
I have been on a long blogging hiatus as we made our move back to the US, found a home, settled in, worked out our new normal. It’s been a weird, wonderful, confusing and illuminating move for our family.
Getting it all done
Before the ‘rona struck, I was feeling overwhelmed. It was almost March, we were planning to move back to the US at the end of April and the kids were in a full-on second semester panic as it began to dawn on them how much they had to get done.
Making masks
Now that Maya’s done with school, we decided to make some masks to protect us if we go out.
Silver lining of Corona
School is done! All three of my older kids have completed their schoolwork for the year.
Accepting Isolation
We’ve been doing great, accepting ever-more-stringent isolation rules as they are announced. But it was all bound to come to a head eventually.

One of the best things about living here and homeschooling is that we are able to take trips to visit some of the countries we are learning about.
